Oliver Twist, 7-10 August 2014

Brighton Open Air Theatre

Inspired by the vivid world of the Victorian music-hall, this production sees the company conjure up a host of unforgettable characters—Fagin, Nancy, Bill Sykes, Dodger and, of course, Oliver himself.

Full of movement, fun, pathos and a few tears, this fast-moving, powerful adaptation of Dickens’ novel brings to the theatre one of the angriest, funniest and most deeply felt stories ever written. Dickens’ original words bring the dark criminal underbelly of nineteenth century London back to life – a city teeming with images of danger and fear, innocence and hope – seen through the eyes of an astonished child. Oliver Twist comes to the Brighton Open Air Theatre, following Identity's productions of Blue Remembered Hills, The Crucible, Wuthering Heights, Dracula and Under Milk Wood.
